If Two Worlds Kiss

1987 has to be my favorite year of music; it is by complete coincidence that my first two posts are about albums from this year. I wanted to talk about their debut album here as I named my blog after this band.       I first got into this album when I had the opportunity to see them while studying abroad in Berlin this past summer... an opportunity I regretfully fumbled. Hint: if you see once-in-a-lifetime tickets, no matter how far in advance, BUY them!!! I waited until we were in Germany and of course they sold out like hot cakes. Those $40 tickets slipped through my fingers like grains of sand and I will eternally kick myself for it. Even the old record shops were plum out of records by Pink Turns Blue. Despite being German, this band stuck to singing in English, which ultimately hurt their efforts at securing support from a label. I think this may have prevented them from having the same acclaim as other German bands like Xmal Deutshland....

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me

listen while you read This 1987 album is nothing short of life changing. It is one of the first albums I will recommend to people, because it singlehandedly opened up Pandora's box for me. KMx3 masterfully weaves the treacherously vulnerable tracks such as The Kiss, Torture, and The Snakepit throughout the uplifting catchy bops such as Catch, Why Can't I Be You?, and Just Like Heaven. This album is very multifaceted and spotlights the versatility of The Cure with each new song. This album is technically a double LP, with too many songs to mention, so I will focus on my favorites from the first half for now.   I don't think I will delve into this much detail for every album I discuss, this just happens to be one of my original favorites. EDIT: After getting about halfway through this post, I realized nearly every song on this album is a favorite about which I could talk extensively. I made the executive decision to cut about half of them for the sake...

My First Post (test)

First and Last and Always AN INTRODUCTION Wow, okay!      I had the shower thought this morning that I should create a blog, and this is my first attempt at putting that together. In my head, this could combine my love for writing and the gothic into one digital space.                                        My own personal soapbox, or outlet.  Anyways, I want to talk about at least one album per week on this page, and perhaps any crafts or activities I get up to that revolve around the goth subculture. I think it's less embarrassing than starting a club. I'm also assuming this could be an avenue to practice my user interface skills, or break the rules. I don't know why the margins are so small though. This post isn't meant to be a monologue, so I guess I'll end it here.                    ...
